67 year-old lady 2 months of right groin area pain radiating to her right medial thigh.
She had a deep right groin pain with pressure to the pubic bone.
Diagnosis: obturator nerve neuralgia
Treatment: Local gentle massage over the tenderness area by a provider and low dose of Gabapentin relieved the pain.
45 year young lady 6 months of left groin area pain radiating to her left medial thigh to her left medial knee. Walking and bearing weight over her left leg makes it worse.
Deep pressure over left pubic rami makes the pain worse.
Management: Left obturator nerve block x 2 eased the pain.
61 year young lady 3 months history of left groin area pain down to her left medial thigh to her left medial knee, where she has burning pain and allodynia. She also noticed she has weakness of her left leg with walking- she noticed she had difficulty to bring her left leg to the middle when she walks.
She has left medial thigh muscle atrophy and weakness. She has allodynia over the left medial thigh and knee. Even touching the skin is painful.
Diagnosis: obturator nerve neuralgia.
Treatment: Obturator nerve block at the obturator notch with immediate pain relief and resolution of allodynia.
