Splenic infarction pain
a LUQ abdominal pain,
and a left flank pain
Splenic infarction can be asymptomatic or it may cause severe and sudden onset left upper quadrant abdominal pain or left flank pain.
Liver-spleen scan, CT and US are the mode of investigation. Surgery consult may be needed. Many patients are better with conservative medical management.
In pediatrics, it could be wandering spleen syndrome.
Hematological, oncological and infectious diseases should be considered.
